Bob Stafford

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Robert J. "Bob" Stafford, 77, of Chaffee died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

He was born Oct. 29, 1927, at Silverdale, Mo., son of Robert and Ethel Cox Stafford. He and Ines Lee Purdom were married Aug. 1, 1964. She died Sept. 11, 1999.

Mr. Stafford had worked at Columbia Construction Co. in Cape Girardeau, and then at Bob's Lawn Service in Chaffee many years.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include a son, Don Stafford of Pennsylvania; a daughter and son-in-law, Kelley and David Petitt of Chaffee; a sister, Ruth Allwood of Chaffee; five grandchildren, April Stafford of Chaffee, David Petitt II and Sara Petitt of Chaffee, Josh Petitt of Delta, Jamie Stafford of Pennsylvania; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Stafford; four brothers, and two sisters.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. C.B. Stidham officiating. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery.
