THEBES, Ill. -- Bob Hale, 70, of Thebes died Thursday, March 30, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 17, 1935, in Gale, Ill., son of Thomas Monroe and Susie Winemiller Hale. He and Kathe Matz were married Nov. 19, 1958.
He served in the 47th Armored Infantry Battalion in the U.S. Army. He worked as a painter.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Robert G. Hale of Olive Branch, Ill., David Hale, Thomas Hale, Ronald Hale and Randy Hale, all of Thebes; two daughters, Tina Sissom and Hope McHughes, both of Thebes; four brothers, James and Larry Hale, both of Thebes, Donald Hale of Tamms, Ill., Norman Hale of McClure, Ill.; two sisters, Susan Bougher of Thebes, Mary Elizabeth Watson of Bebe, Ark.; 24 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and three brothers.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, with the Rev. Jimmie Lee Monahan officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with full military honors by VFW Post 8891 of Mounds, Ill.
