James Robert "Bob" Goodman, 74, of Scott City died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at his home. He was born Aug. 24, 1930, at Fornfelt, son of E.L. "Hap" and Ethel Young Goodman. James Robert "Bob" Goodman, 74, of Scott City died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at his home.

He was born Aug. 24, 1930, at Fornfelt, son of E.L. "Hap" and Ethel Young Goodman. He and Jean Anne Darby were married Feb. 16, 1951.

Mr. Goodman owned and operated Goodman Lumber Co. from 1963 to 1979. He also owned and operated J.R. Goodman Trucking Co.

He was a member of Illmo Baptist Church in Scott City.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Roger Goodman of Fenton, Mo., Charles Goodman of Chesterfield, Mo.; two daughters, Christine Goodman of St. Louis, Jeannine Schuenemeyer of Scott City; two brothers, Bill Goodman of Jefferson City, Mo., Joe Goodman of Perryville, Mo.; two sisters, Virginia Dahms of Cape Girardeau, Janet Bocking of Jackson; six grandchildren, John Goodman of Cape Girardeau, Sarah Goodman of Fenton, Emily and Matt Goodman of Chesterfield, Daniel and Josh Schuenemeyer of Scott City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty Alice Medved; and a daughter, Myra Helen Goodman.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Illmo Baptist Church, with the Revs. Dennis Bell and Jack Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Illmo Baptist Church or Southeast Hospice.
