VILLA RIDGE, Ill. � Blanche Elizabeth Gulley Mize, 100, of Villa Ridge passed away Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, at Aperion Care Center in Cairo, Illinois.
Blanche was born Feb. 2, 1917, in Wetaug, Illinois, daughter of Louis Isac Gulley Sr. and Cora Mae Severs Gulley.
She was a member of Wetaug Church of Christ and she later attended Mounds Church of Christ. She was an avid member of the Homemakers Extension in Villa Ridge for many years; and she was a homemaker and housewife. She was married to Albert Mize for 63 years, having celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at Lambert�s in Sikeston, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert Mize on Dec. 8, 1998; a daughter, Carolyn Sue Pfaff on Dec. 31, 2012; a grandson, Timothy Drew Mize in November 1979; four brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth (Carol Jean) Mize of Villa Ridge; a sister, Nina Goins of Wetaug; four grandchildren, Kevin (Debbie) Mize, Rodney (Missy) Pfaff, Linden (Walter) Ziegler and Amy (Dale) Kerr; six great-grandchildren, Timothy Drew (Robyn) Mize, Aaron Mize, Dustin Kerr, Nathan Pfaff, Cody Kerr and Chance Nolan Ziegler; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation held Sunday at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Buddy Walls and her nephew Ronnie Gulley officiating. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Garden in Villa Ridge.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorials to the donor�s choice in memory of Blanche Mize.
