LEOPOLD -- Blanche Howard Chastain, 91, of San Jose, Calif., died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 1995, at Westgate Convalescent Home in San Jose. She was born July 7, 1903, in Leopold, daughter of Harry and Julia Horrell McManus. She and Edward Howard were married Sept. 25, 1920. He died May 7, 1984. She later married Everett Chastain, who died Nov. 26, 1993...

LEOPOLD -- Blanche Howard Chastain, 91, of San Jose, Calif., died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 1995, at Westgate Convalescent Home in San Jose.

She was born July 7, 1903, in Leopold, daughter of Harry and Julia Horrell McManus. She and Edward Howard were married Sept. 25, 1920. He died May 7, 1984. She later married Everett Chastain, who died Nov. 26, 1993.

Chastain was a member of Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church in San Jose.

Survivors include a son, Leo Howard of Boonville, Calif.; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters and five brothers.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, with the Rev. Lewis Hejna officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Thursday.
