Billy Ray Parker, 61, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born March 24, 1939, at Puxico, son of Charles Ray and Lonetta Fields Parker. He and Mary Ann Menz were married May 17, 1958, at Morley.

Parker worked in sales at ABF Freight System Inc. He was a member, deacon and Sunday School teacher at Red Star Baptist Church, and did various volunteer work for the church.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Bradley Parker of Union, Brent Parker of Jackson, Bryan Parker of Grand Rapids, Mich.; a daughter, Beverly Parker of St. Louis; a brother, Frank Parker of Las Vegas, Nev.; and a sister, Kay Bramlett of Vanduser.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
