SIKESTON -- Billy Eugene Childers, 66, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999, at Missouri Delta MedicalCenter.

He was born March 9, 1933, in East Prairie, son of Ed and Joy V. Collins Childers. He and Betty L. Ingram were married in 1954.

Childers was a retired truck driver, and member of the Eagles Aerie and American Legion Post. He served in the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Alan Childers of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ronnie, Mark, Larry and John Childers of Sikeston; five brothers, Wayne, Paul and Timmy Childers of Sikeston, Michael Childers of Austin, Texas, Jerry Childers of Chaffee; two sisters, Mary Hamilton of Sikeston, Sue Husk of Jackson; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Bob Burnes will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
