CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Billy "Little Bill" Buell, 78, of Delta, passed away Saturday morning at Chaffee Nursing Center.
Billy was born Aug. 14, 1934, in Oran, Mo., to the late Joe and Pauline Eva Hall Buell.
Billy started riding horses as a jockey at an early age, racing in a lot of states, of which Florida was one of his favorites. He raced for a lot of years. Billy retired as a laborer for Labor Local #561 in Evansville, Ind.
Survivors include a son, Billy Joe Buell Jr. of Evansville, Ind., and two daughters, Lori (Paul) Fratturo and JoAnna West of Evansville, Ind.
Special friends are Sandy and Greg Dunning and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Looney of Delta.
Billy was preceded in death by a son, John David Buell.
Little Bill decided against a funeral service.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Chaffee Nursing Center who became a second family to Bill. Their love and compassion was truly a blessing.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to go to the Chaffee Nursing Center Christmas Food Drive.
Arrangements were handled by the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
