CAIRO, Ill. -- Billy Ray Allen, 53, of Panama City, Fla., died Thursday, June 19, 1997, at Bay County Medical Center in Panama City.

He was born March 23, 1944, in Cairo, son of Clarence William and Mary Jane Baggett Allen.

Allen was a charter boat guide for a fishing company in Panama City.

Survivors include three sons, Tyler Baine, address unknown; Jason Russell of Panama City, Billy Patula of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Mary Droge of Cairo, Nellie Britt of Sparta; three brothers, Michael Allen of Barlow, Ky., Jimmy Allen Sr. of Bardwell, Ky., and Melvin Allen of Cache.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and three sisters.

There is no visitation.

Private graveside service will be held next week in Spencer Heights Cemetery at Mounds, with the Rev. Billy Don Heady officiating.

Jones Funeral Home at Villa Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
