NEW MADRID, Mo. -- Billie Bob Tarble, 67, died Nov. 21, 2009, at his home.
He was born Sept. 1, 1942, in Aurora, Ill., son of Chester E. and Bertha Davis Tarble.
He married Tina Storts on July 19, 2008.
He was founder of the Glenallen Volunteer Fire Department and was a deputy sheriff in Bollinger County for five years. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1959 to 1967, serving two tours in Vietnam and a tour in Panama and Africa.
He was employed by the Missouri Department of Agriculture in New Madrid.
He was a member of the New Madrid Eagles Club, Elks Club and American Legion Post 595 in New Madrid and a member of the legion's honor guard.
Survivors include his wife, Tina of New Madrid; two sons, Jeffrey Allen Tarble of St. Louis, Aaron Wayne Tarble of Scott City; a daughter, Patricia Ann Cornett of Madison, Wis.; a brother, David Nolen of New Madrid; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Pat Moore of O'Fallon, Mo.
Burial was in the veterans cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.
Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid was in charge of arrangements.
