Billie Smith

Billie Marie Smith, 97, of Delta passed away Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, at the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri.

Billie was born Jan. 27, 1919, to the late William and Ida Snider Birkman near Whitewater. She married Willard Wayne Smith on March 21, 1936, and he preceded her in death Sept. 11, 1992.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Delta.

Survivors are a brother, William Birkman Jr. of Advance, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Janet Smith of Cape Girardeau; a son--in-law, Leland Graviett of Farmington, Missouri; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she also was preceded in death by a son, Jerry W. Smith; a daughter, Sandra Graviett; five sisters; and a brother.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Kenny Martin officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
