William Phineous "Bill" Suffern, 69, of Jackson died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at his home.
He was born Oct. 12, 1937, in Virginia, Ill., son of Howard Phineous and Myrtle Lucille Davis Suffern. He and Kathy D. Smith were married Oct. 18, 1978.
Suffern was an electrical engineer 35 years with Diamond Power Specialty Co. in Lancaster, Ohio, retiring in August 2005.
He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Gregory Suffern of Oak City, Utah, Jeffery Suffern of Provo, Utah, Tony McBride of Sawyer, Mich., Shane McBride of St. Louis; two daughters, Kelly Walker of Provo, Susan Suffern of Joplin, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
