SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- William F. "Bill" Reed, 75, of Pine Bluff, Ark., died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at his home.
He was born Sept. 23, 1925, at Fornfelt (Scott City), son of Ambrose D. and Bertha McGill Reed.
Reed was employed 40 years with Cotton Belt Southern Pacific Railroad, retiring in 1982 as superintendent of the Pine Bluff Division of Southern Pacific.
He was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Pine Bluff Lodge 69 F&AM, Sahara Shrine Temple, Pine Bluff Historical Railroad Society, and Literacy Council of Jefferson County.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1943-48.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Green and Carol Garmon of Jonesboro, Ark.; a son, Jeffrey Reed of Cordova, Tenn.; a sister, Ruth Holder of Belleview, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister,
Friends may call at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Home in Pine Bluff from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral will be at First Assembly of God Church in Pine Bluff at 3 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Bryan Jarrett will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
