SIKESTON -- Bill Newton, 60, of Sikeston died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 6, 1939, at Sikeston, son of Joseph Lambert and Leona Nelson Newton. He and Delores Blackburn were married Feb. 22, 1969.
Newton was owner and operator of Newton's Upholstery many years. He was a member of Trinity Gospel Church, and Missouri National Guard.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Michelle Newton of St. Louis; two sisters, Mary Icenogle of Peoria, Ill., and Betty Jaynes of Dexter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Gospel Church. The Rev. Larry Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
