KARNAK, Ill. -- Memorial service for William D. "Bill" Main of Naples, Fla., will be held today in Naples.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Masonic Cemetery in Belknap.

Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak is in charge of local arrangements.

Main, 83, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, in Naples.

He was the son of Dave and Bertha Williams Main. He married the former Louella Verhines.

Formerly of Karnak, he had worked at Main Brothers Box and Lumber Co. After moving to Naples he was a correctional officer with Collier County Sheriff's Department, retiring in 1972.

Main was a member of First United Methodist Church in Golden Gate, Fla., and was a former district governor of the Lions Club in Illinois.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Ann Lawler of Chicago, Carol Lockerby, Karen and Becky Main, all of Naples; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son.
