CHAFFEE -- Bill Louis Lane, 76, of Chaffee died Friday, Nov. 22, 1996, at his home.
He was born June 29, 1920, at Vanduser, son of Agnes Gober and G.W. Lane. He and Lucille Curry Lane were married Sept. 1, 1946. She died May 16, 1994.
Lane was a retired welder at Raymond International Steel in Chicago. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army and was a member of the VFW Post 6407 in Scott City and a Mason in the Chaffee Masonic Lodge 615.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Kercher of Wadesville, Ind.; a brother, Ullys "Mutt" Lane of Sikeston; a sister, Dorothy Sanders of Mount Vernon, Ill.; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
Two brothers preceded him in death.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. today at Amick Burnett Funeral Chapel, with a masonic service at 7:30.
Funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the chapel. The Rev. Keith Price will officiate, with burial to follow at Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
