SIKESTON -- Bill Garner, 50, of Mamou, La., died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1993, at Savoy Medical Center there. He was born May 23, 1942, in Blytheville, Ark., son of Dyer D. and Billie Loflin Garner. SIKESTON -- Bill Garner, 50, of Mamou, La., died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1993, at Savoy Medical Center there.

He was born May 23, 1942, in Blytheville, Ark., son of Dyer D. and Billie Loflin Garner. He married the former Mercedes Fuselier.

Garner was a 1960 graduate of Sikeston High School, where he played baseball, basketball and football. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1964.

He was manager of a grocery store, and had formerly worked at Malone and Hyde.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Philip and William Garner of Monroe, La.; his mother of Sikeston; four brothers, Dyer "Sonny", Tim, David and Mike Garner, all of Sikeston; two sisters, Glenda Becker of Dexter, Patricia Hesselrode of Murray, Ky., and three grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Randy Thomas will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. today.
