Bill Donaldson, 81, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born November 18, 1927, in Haleyville, Ala., the son of Luther and Lizzie (Self) Donaldson. He and Pat (Hiett) Donaldson were married on December 23, 1950, in Piggott, Ark.
Donaldson served in the U.S. Army from Nov. 30, 1950, to Aug. 30, 1952, during the Korean War.
He also worked as a salesman for Wiethop Truck Sales in Cape Girardeau for 40 years and retired in 1993.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Donaldson of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Don Donaldson of Parker, Colo.; two sisters, Irene Howern and June Medkiff, both of Kennett, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Jim Cooper and Eric Shrum officiating.
Burial will be at noon at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo., with full military Honors by the Missouri Honors Team.
Memorials may be made to charity of choice.
