William Grant "Bill" Dalton, 76, entered heaven Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Saturday, Dec. 14, 1940, in Cape Girardeau to Leonard and Nelle Rhodes Dalton.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anita Louise Dalton of Cape Girardeau County; sons, Terry Dalton of Petersburg, Illinois, and Larry (Gail) Dalton of Cherry Valley, Illinois; grandchildren, Quincy Dalton, Tatum Dalton and Jesse Dalton; many loving nieces and nephews; sisters, Nelda Crader of Cape Girardeau and Suda Crawford of Newburgh, Indiana; and brothers, Darris (Martha) Dalton of Jackson, Mack (LaDonna) Dalton of Whitewater and Wayne (Rosenell) Dalton of Coleman, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his son William Brian Dalton in 1966; parents; sister Glenda Schuh; niece Mariesa Lesh; and great-nephew, A.J. Begley.
Bill graduated from Delta High School in 1959.
He retired from IUOE Local 513, where he worked as a heavy-equipment operator.
He also worked as a farmer/cattle rancher with his wife. He was a great communicator and will be deeply missed.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
Private family burial will be at a later date.
