PERKINS, Mo. -- Bill "Dub" Crowden, 85, of Perkins died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at his home.
He was born Feb. 1, 1918, in LaMar, Ark., son of W.L. and Jennie Seiler Crowden. He and Irene Dufur Himes were married Jan. 7, 1986.
Crowden was a retired pipefitter with Local 562 in St. Louis. He was a former member of Chaffee Masonic Lodge 615 and Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810, and Sikeston Order of Eagles Aerie 3319.
He served in WW II
Survivors include his wife; six sons, Gary and Ron Crowden of Chaffee, Mo., Harold and David Crowden of Scott City, Michael Crowden of Cape Girardeau, Don Crowden of Kemp, Texas; two daughters, Carol Gribbler and Cheryl Wilhite of Chaffee; a stepson, Bobby Himes of Sikeston, Mo.; a brother, Edward Crowden of Jackson, Mich.; a sister, Mattie Cochran of Aquilla, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, four brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 5 p.m. today.
The Chaffee Masonic Lodge will conduct a Masonic service at 6:45 p.m. Friday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev Alvie Surface officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park Cemetery in Advance, Mo.
