BERTRAND -- Bill L. Blackman, 73, of Sikeston died Monday, March 23, 1998, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born June 27, 1924, at Dogwood, son of Marshall A. and Hattie Watson Blackman. He and Jean Stauffer were married March 24, 1943, at Charleston.
A lifelong resident of Bertrand, he was a farmer, and a member and deacon at Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bill Blackman Jr. of Memphis, Tenn., Roger Blackman of Bertrand; a daughter, Donna Sneathern of Sikeston; a brother, Marshall "Windy" Blackman of Sikeston; a sister, Helen Haas of Charleston; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Fellowship Baptist Church, with the Revs. Ted Wimberley and Bob Medlock officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
