Beverly Ruth Lorenz, 47, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center. She was born Oct. 20, 1957, in St. Louis, daughter of Eldor J. and Verna E. Noennig Lorenz. Beverly graduated from Central High School in 1976, and worked for Jerry Lipps Truck Service 20 years. ...

Beverly Ruth Lorenz, 47, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 20, 1957, in St. Louis, daughter of Eldor J. and Verna E. Noennig Lorenz.

Beverly graduated from Central High School in 1976, and worked for Jerry Lipps Truck Service 20 years. She received an associate's degree in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University in 1998. She had worked at Saint Francis Medical Center since then, the last five years in the Intensive Care Unit.

She was involved in the Refugee Relief from Hurricane Katrina, and volunteered with the Ileitis Colitis Foundation. Beverly was a member of Hanover Lutheran Church.

Loving survivors include her parents of Cape Girardeau; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Maxine Michel of Cape Girardeau, Kristine and Steve Holmes of Centralia, Ill.; a niece, Leah (Armando) Gordillo; a nephew, Jason Michel; and a great-niece, Kaitlyn Weber.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hanover Lutheran Church, with Pastor Daniel M. Hackney officiating. Interment will be in Hanover Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Saxony Lutheran High School, Trinity School Building Fund, or Ileitis Colitis Foundation.
