Beverly Ann Harris, 65, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, May 24, 2024, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis.

She was born March 22, 1959, in Cape Girardeau to Gene and JoAnn Crader.

Beverly graduated from Cape Central High in 1977. In 1981, she graduated from Southeast Missouri State University, where she also played the saxophone in the Golden Eagles Marching Band.

She and Don Harris were married June 20, 1981, at Hanover Lutheran Church.

Beverly loved puzzles, The Beatles, needlepoint, Blues hockey and Tennessee Women’s basketball. She liked all things British, "Gone with the Wind", documentaries and "Wheel of Fortune".

She was a valued employee for the State of Missouri’s Rehabilitation Services for the Blind.

She loved fiercely and was always there for her family.

Survivors include her husband, Don Harris; daughter, Rachel Harris; sister, Vicki Michael; nephews and nieces, Dustin (Neesha) Michael, Coire Michael, Adam Dorsey, Alex Story, Zach Story, and Kate Story; several great-nieces and a great-nephew; and unofficial daughter, Danielle Pritchett.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, at Old Hanover Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Paul Short officiating. Burial will follow at Hanover Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to CURE Childhood Cancer or Southeast Missouri Pets.
