Beulah M. Unfer of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Dec. 4, 1997, at Heartland Care Rehab Center.
She was born in Guthrie Center, Iowa, daughter of Angus L. and Minnie Mae Whistler Teskey. She and Louis Unfer Sr. were married June 11, 1921, in Panora, Iowa. He died March 7, 1983.
Unfer had worked for Illinois State Reproductive Geology Survey.
She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and First United Methodist Church in Champaign, Ill., and was a past national vice president of the auxiliary.
Unfer was also a member of Eight and Forty 231; Hope Chapter Order of Eastern Star 104; Champaign Woman's Club; Women of the Moose 1328; Champaign County Civil Defense; Women's Council of Traffic Safety, and National Retired Teachers Association.
She had been a volunteer at Danville Veterans Hospital, and was a past deputy director.
Survivors include a daughter, Edna Mae Unfer of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Champaign.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
