ANNA, Ill. -- Beulah L. Frick died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, at her daughter's home in Anna. She was 88.
She was born Jan. 18, 1910, in Union County, daughter of William and Nora Miller Smiddy. She married Raymond "Ray" Frick Jan. 25, 1930. He preceded her in death.
She lived in Chicago from 1941 to 1945 before returning to Southern Illinois to live in Vergennes. She returned to Chicago in 1952 and worked for the Lenders Exchange for 20 years. She then was employed for 10 years by St. Rita High School in Chicago before retiring at age 75 and moving back to Jonesboro.
She loved to work around her home, in the yard and in the garden. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro.
She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Arendt of Anna; three sisters, Maggie Brown of Anna, Theresia Cavaness of Jonesboro and Lillie Belle Mayberry of Maud, Texas; and three grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter and five brothers.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday at Hileman & Parr Funeral Services in Jonesboro.
Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Joe Aldridge officiating.
Burial will be at Jonesboro Cemetery.
