CAIRO, Ill. -- Beulah "Bea" Griffin, 90, of Cairo, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 1992, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born Oct. 17, 1901, in Essex, Mo., daughter of Joel and Cora Patterson Dowdy. She married William M. Griffin, who died March 17, 1991...

CAIRO, Ill. -- Beulah "Bea" Griffin, 90, of Cairo, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 1992, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 17, 1901, in Essex, Mo., daughter of Joel and Cora Patterson Dowdy. She married William M. Griffin, who died March 17, 1991.

Griffin was a retired teacher with Cairo Public Schools. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, and Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include a niece, Janie Barnett of Clifton Forge, Va.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Barkett Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Kenneth Provines will officiate, with burial in Dexter City Cemetery at Dexter, Mo.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
