Beulah Brown

BREWER, Mo. -- Beulah M. "Bea" Brown, 80, of Trenton, Ill., died Sunday, April 25, 2004, at St. Joseph Hospital in Highland, Ill.

She was born July 9, 1923, at Brewer, daughter of Kenrick and Sarah Brewer Layton. She and Howard Brown were married Oct. 26, 1946, at Brewer.

Brown was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Altar Sodality, and St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary in Breese, Ill.

Survivors include her husband; five sons, Steven Brown of St. Louis, James Brown of Trenton, Thomas Brown of Sterling, Va., Michael Brown of O'Fallon, Ill., Robert Brown of New Baden, Ill.; four daughters, Christine Wilson of Waterloo, Ill., Mary Jakel of Highland, Ann Ritzheimer of Edwardsville, Ill., and Susan Moffatt of Trenton.

Also surviving are three sisters, Aline Reiss of Sereno, Mo., Beryl Moore of Brewer, Doris Nickelson of Hurdle Mills, N.C.; 21 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, a brother and three sisters.

Friends may call at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and 8 to 10:15 a.m. Thursday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton, with the Rev. James Dougherty officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
