BETTY WICHERT

Funeral service for Betty A. Wichert, 1968 Perryville Road, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Milton Ryan will officiate, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.

A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent's Catholic Church.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7:30.

Wichert, 67, died Monday, April 1, 1996, at her home.

She was born Aug. 22, 1928, in Springfield, Ill., daughter of Joseph P. and Ethel Luby Rothermel. She and George Wichert were married Feb. 14, 1953, in Springfield, Ill. He died Feb. 6, 1984.

The Wicherts were co-owners of Delta Drug Co. in Cairo, Ill. They moved here in 1961 from Cairo. She was a member of St. Vincent's Church.

Survivors include a son, George Wichert Jr. of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Cathy Wichert of Basking Ridge, N.J., and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister.
