CHAFFEE, Mo. — Betty Walton of Chaffee, daughter of the late Wilson and Lorene Sides Windeknecht, was born April 17, 1935, in Cape Girardeau County and departed her life Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Chaffee Nursing Center at the age of 88 years.

She was affiliated with First United Methodist Church in Chaffee, and was a former employee of Home Health Care.

Betty was united in marriage to Elgin Walton in Benton, Missouri. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Sadler of Chaffee; two granddaughters, Shelly Schrum and Lori Sadler; four great-grandchildren, Stevie, Sidney, Spencer and Joplyn; two great-great-grandchildren, River and Ozzy; and a brother, Bill Windeknecht of Cape Girardeau.

Besides her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise K. Jones; two brothers; and one sister.

Celebration of life service will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 10, with a memorial service taking place at 1 p.m., at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
