Betty I. Sprengel, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019, at Southeast Hospital.
She was born July 18, 1931, in Puxico, Missouri, to Cecil and Dovie Roverta Workman Orman. She and August K. Sprengel Jr. were married Oct. 19, 1952, at Cape Girardeau.
She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and had been in charge of its Ladies Junior Aid. She had worked for Southwestern Bell for about 30 years. Betty loved square dancing, needle-pointing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Diana Lynne (Mike) Kembel of Maineville, Ohio; grandchildren, Leslie (Frank) Morris and Kyle (Kimberly) Kembel; and great-grandchildren, Isabella Morris, Finley K. Morris, Frank Levi Morris and Preslie Lynne Kembel. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Pauline Lewis and Thelma Mae Orman; and brother, Harry Orman.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
