ADVANCE -- Betty Jean Owens, 70, of Advance died Monday, April 21, 1997, at her home.
She was born Jan. 18, 1927, in Marianna, Ark., daughter of David and Bertha Sample Owens.
Owens had been a nurse for Dr. E.C. Masters in Advance, and was a cook on a river boat.
Survivors include two sons, David Stephens of Advance, Doug Stephens of Zalma; a daughter, Jeanne Pettit of Perkins; two brothers, Ches Owens of Erin, Tenn., Warren "Dub" Owens of Pomona; two sisters, Helen Gibbs of Advance, Ruth Hawk of Sturdivant; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. James Johns officiating. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery at Marble Hill.
