THEBES, Ill. -- Betty Sue Coursey Warren Moore, 75, of rural Thebes passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at her home. She was born May 26, 1939, in Alexander County, Illinois, daughter of Charlie and Dora Light Coursey. THEBES, Ill. -- Betty Sue Coursey Warren Moore, 75, of rural Thebes passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at her home.

She was born May 26, 1939, in Alexander County, Illinois, daughter of Charlie and Dora Light Coursey.

Betty was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church near Thebes, and attended Crusaders for Christ Church of Mounds, Illinois.

She was a beautician 40 years, owning Warren's Beauty Shop in Olive Branch, Illinois, and also worked at Thorngate in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include her husband, J.D. Moore of Thebes; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Eddie Clark and Patsy and Russell Pender of Thebes; four stepchildren, Billy Joe (Karen) Moore of West Frankfort, Illinois, Todd Rhodes of Marion, Illinois, Debbie Sue Lawrence of Johnston City, Illinois, and Jennifer (Darrell) Fowler of Whittington, Illinois; a brother, Ivan Coursey of Ullin, Illinois; two sisters, Lola (Charles) Miller of Olive Branch and Mary Jean (Steve) Jones of Thebes.

Also five grandchildren, Mackaya Clark, Melissa Clark, Brad Clark, Heather Miller and Shelton Pender; seven stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; eight great-stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, James H. Warren, on Dec. 18, 2003; and a brother, Marvin Coursey.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, Illinois.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Dennis Clark and Jerod Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorials to Olive Branch Cemetery Association.
