Betty McCain

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Betty McCain, 87, of Advance passed away July 10, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Betty was born Jan. 29, 1929, at Blytheville, Arkansas, the daughter of C.J. Altom.

Betty first worked at the Inland Shoe Factory in Advance for 12 years. She then worked at the Florsheim Shoe Factory in Cape Girardeau for 35 years. She retired after 47 years working. She attended Faith Baptist Church in Advance.

Betty and Richard Powers McCain were united in marriage in Blytheville, and he preceded her in death in 2004.

Survivors include a son, Dale McCain of Kennewick, Washington; two daughters, Mary Lou Stevens of Jackson and Johnie Withrow of Puxico, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter Nancy Abner; a brother, David; and a sister, Bessie.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Johnny Rhodes officiating.

Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
