Betty Louise Smith

Betty Louise Smith, 86, of Millersville passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Marble Hill, Missouri.

She was born Dec. 6, 1930, daughter of Arthur and Edna Woods Suedekum. She and Luther Raymond Smith were married May 2, 1962. He passed away Aug. 22, 1991.

Betty was a member of Sedgewickville Lutheran Church for many years. She loved to sew and had made many beautiful quilts, which she shared with her loved ones.

Betty, along with her sister, Frances, worked in their ceramic/sewing shop making numerous beautiful items for several years. Betty's faith in our Lord allowed her to be an inspiration to all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

The light of her love will forever shine in all of our hearts.

Loving survivors include five nephews, Stanley Turner, Dennis Turner, Steve Turner, David Gerecke and Walter Gerecke, and one niece, Rebecca Chapman.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers, Harold Gerecke, William Gerecke and Carl Gerecke; and a sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Homer Turner Jr.

A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sedgewickville Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Jerry Bailey officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
