Betty Lou Buckner Koechig, 75, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born May 18, 1941, in Cape Girardeau to Henry Russell and Audrey E. Kern Buckner. Betty married Ronald L. Moss on May 6, 1961, Ivan Farrow in May 1978 and, later, Lloyd Koechig on Dec. 3, 1993. Lloyd preceded her in death Feb. 23, 2005...

Betty Lou Buckner Koechig, 75, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 18, 1941, in Cape Girardeau to Henry Russell and Audrey E. Kern Buckner. Betty married Ronald L. Moss on May 6, 1961, Ivan Farrow in May 1978 and, later, Lloyd Koechig on Dec. 3, 1993. Lloyd preceded her in death Feb. 23, 2005.

Betty was a 1960 graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School. She worked at the former Florsheim Shoe Co., at Southeast Hospital as a nurse's aide and at the former Famous Barr and retired from Macy's.

Loving survivors include her children, Elizabeth L. (Tony) Carter of Vienna, Illinois, and Michael L. (Catalina) Moss of Pearland, Texas; three grandchildren, Derrick Pearl, Daryl (Chelsea) Obptande and Sebastian Moss; a great-grandchild, Trinity Pearl; and four siblings, Hazel E. Welter, James R. (Lilian) Buckner, Harold G. (Melba) Buckner and Peggy J. Evans. Also surviving are three nephews, Roger (Missy) Buckner, J.B. III (Shannon) Evans and Jason Singleton; and five nieces, Trudy E. (Michael) LeGrand, Pamela J. (David) Goodin, Elizabeth Evans, Loretta (Tim) Kincaid and Paula (Mark) Carnell.

In addition to her husbands, Lloyd and Ivan, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Betty especially wished to acknowledge her constant supporters, Pat Hecht and Karen McCullough, the doctors, nurses and help provided her during her battle with leukemia.

A private graveside service will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Michael Woods officiating.

McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
