JONESBORO, Ill. -- Betty Jean Smith, 69, of Jonesboro died Thursday, Oct. 10, 1996. She was born at Wetaug, Ill., daughter of Warren and Anna Mae Woodworth Turner. She married Leo A. Smith in Jonesboro June 18, 1958. He survives. She was a homemaker...

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Betty Jean Smith, 69, of Jonesboro died Thursday, Oct. 10, 1996.

She was born at Wetaug, Ill., daughter of Warren and Anna Mae Woodworth Turner.

She married Leo A. Smith in Jonesboro June 18, 1958. He survives.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Leroy Lindsey of Shilo, Ill. and Larry Joe Lindsey of Jonesboro; three daughters, Shirley Jean Kernan of Belleville, Sue Crossin of Venice, Fla., and Wanda Smith of Jonesboro; a brother, Carrol Turner of Cobden; a sister, Reba Turner of Cobden; 21 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and a granddaughter.

Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Hileman & Parr Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. James Hardway officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
