MARBLE HILL -- Betty Jean Schmitt, 54, died Friday, Feb. 18, 1994, in St. Louis.
She was born July 7, 1939, at Marble Hill, daughter of Ransom J. and Wilma Maedean Garland.
She retired as a clerk typist with Travelers Protection Association insurance company in St. Louis.
She was a member of Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church, but attended Friendship Assembly of God Church in St. Louis.
She married Wayne Francis Schmitt Nov. 2, 1985.
She is survived by her husband; her mother, Wilma Cook; two brothers, Jerry Garland, Marble Hill, Bill Garland, Patton; three sisters, Velda Doggett, Sedgewickville, Judy Liley and Lisa Garland, Marble Hill.
Friends may call today after 4 p.m. at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Funeral service will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jimmie Fulbright officiating. Burial will be in Hurricane Fork Cemetery.
