SIKESTON -- Betty Jean Abernathy Huffman, 59, of Route 4 Sikeston, died Thursday, May 26, 1994 following an automobile accident in Howell County.
She was born June 14, 1934 in Morley, the daughter of Henry William Abernathy and Lavadie Mae Hoxworth Abernathy.
On July 29, 1973 she married Abram Earl Huffman in Biloxi, Miss., and he survives.
Other survivors include: five sons, Henry Oliver of Essex, Jessie Oliver of Quitman, Miss., and Harry, Frank, and Earl Oliver of Marshall, Ark.; five daughters, Bobbie Pugh and Paula Burns of Sikeston, Rose Rhymes of Lucedale, Miss., Sharie Cook of Quitman, Miss., and Ruby Comer of Laurel, Miss.; three brothers, Johnnie Abernathy of Sikeston, and Lee Roy and Bobbie Abernathy, both of Morley; six sisters, Maudie Denton and Violet Farmer, both of Sikeston, Mary Carver of Zalma, Fern Thomas of Oran, Tina Clark of Dexter, and Pretshie Ellsworth of Pensacola, Fla.; 25 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Amick-Burnett chapel, with Rev. Billy Butler officiating. Burial will be in the New Morley Cemetery.
