MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Betty J. Goodlin, 84, of Mound City died Friday, March 25, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 9,1926, in Cairo, Ill., daughter of Henry J. and Lizzie Farley Lieb. She married John Goodlin, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Goodlin was a recording clerk for the Pulaski County clerk's office, and a teacher's aide for the Meridian Elementary School before her retirement.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a dear friend, Bill Scales.
Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Goodlin, her husband, Mario Saenz, and a grandson, Miguel Saenz, all of Syracuse, N.Y.; a sister, Lucille Klosterman of Mounds, Ill.; two brothers, Henry J. Lieb Jr. of Rockford, Ill., and Robert Lieb of Mounds; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Shiloh Baptist Church in Villa Ridge, Ill., with the Revs. Larry Miller and Buddy Walls officiating.
Interment will be in Spencer Heights Cemetery in Mounds.
Barkett Funeral Home of Mounds is in charge of arrangements.
At the request of the family, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the charity of the donor's choice in memory of Mrs. Goodlin.
