Betty Francis

Betty J. Francis, 87, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Mo.

She was born March 12, 1926, in Cape Girardeau to Jesse and Sydney Sutherland Todd. She married Vohn Francis July 5, 1950. He preceded her in death Sept. 9, 1991.

Betty worked many years with Greyhound in Chicago before moving to Cape Girardeau, where she worked for Mid-America Hotels 38 years, retiring at the age of 81.

She is survived by a sister, Francis L. Grubb; a nephew, William Edward Grubb; a great-nephew, Edward Stuart Grubb, all of Arapahoe, N.C.; and other relatives and many friends.

A gathering for friends and family will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of the donor's choice, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
