PUXICO, Mo. -- Betty L. Denny, 77, of Puxico died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 26, 1936, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., to the late Earl "Red" and Dorothy Boyer Dillon.
She was the beloved wife of Donald Denny; loving mother of Byron (Rose) Denny and Donna (David) Hayes; beloved grandmother of Sunshine and Donny House, Katie and Toby Lovett, Bobbie Jo and Greg Dontrich, Jessica Benson and Daniel Copeland, Stacy Stotts, John and Summer Hayes, Frank and Clarissa Richardet; great-grandmother to Tonya, Jasmine, Journee, Bobby, Anthony, Austin, Vivian, Lanie, Dakota, Johnny and Sadie.
Donald and Betty operated three IGA supermarkets 30 years in Puxico, Potosi, Mo., and Cape Girardeau. She was a member of Mount Calvary Church in Poplar Bluff.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Sifford Funeral Home in Puxico.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Calvary Church, with Ronny Webb and the Rev. Ray Placher officiating. Burial will be in Puxico City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Puhicah Federated Club Scholarship Fund.
