Betty Coles

ANNA, Ill.-- Betty Coles, 83, of Anna died Friday, March 25, 2005, at the Carbondale Nursing and Rehab Center in Carbondale, Ill.

She was born Oct. 28, 1921, in Anna, daughter of William and Florence Davis Ledbetter. She and Herb Coles were married July 26, 1942.

Coles was a retired General Telephone Co. operator. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Anna.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Eugenia Nichols of Anna; a son, Mike Coles of Anna; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tim Sadler officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
