Betty J. "Inky" Chapman, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, April 27, 2008, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born May 12, 1930, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Frank and Yvetta Hunt Reed. She and John Raymond Chapman were married Dec. 16, 1949, in Cape Girardeau. He died Dec. 28, 1994.
Chapman was a 1948 graduate of Central High School. She worked at Pikin-Boyd-Neal Packing Co. and for KFVS-TV. She was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Gale Chapman of Louisville, Colo., Steve (Jean) Chapman of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Dixie Dunning of Whitewater, Frankie Clippard of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Alan Reed of St. Louis, Robert Reed of Dutchtown; three grandchildren, Amanda (Greg) Craft of Cape Girardeau, Jeff (Magin) Chapman of Cape Girardeau, Dillon Chapman of Louisville; and a special friend, Roy Stroder of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Hylton officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
