Bettie Jean Rike Allison, 80, of Huntsville, Ala., died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at her home, following a lengthy illness.
She was an educator in and around Cape Girardeau more than 30 years. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and a community volunteer.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Scott Tucker of Huntsville; and four grandchildren, Derek, Emily, Abby and Gregory.
The family will receive friends at noon today at Valley United Methodist Church in Huntsville.
The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Evergreen Cemetery in Williston, Tenn.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the Lambuth University Scholarship of Teachers, 705 Lambuth Blvd., Jackson, Tenn., 38301.
