EAST PRAIRIE -- Bessie Beatrice Jackson, 82, of East Prairie died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997, at her home.

She was born March 24, 1915, in East Prairie, daughter of Ed and Laura Doom Coffer. She married Maloy Wilson Jackson on June 24, 1933. He survives.

She was a life-long resident of Mississippi County and a retired cook for the East Prairie R-2 school system and a member of the First Baptist Church in East Prairie.

She is survived by a daughter, Patty Woods of East Prairie; a sister, Lucy Poley of East Prairie; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, an infant son, a grandchild, her parents, five brothers and six sisters.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with George White officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in East Prairie.
