WAPPAPELLO -- Graveside service for Bertis Harold Kimmel of Wappapello will be held at 9 a.m. today at Essex Cemetery in Essex. Chaplain Ron Spell will officiate.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter after 8 a.m. today.
Kimmel, 67, died Monday, Sept. 11, 1995, at his home.
He was born Sept. 1, 1928, at Morehouse, son of Luther and Bertha Burns Kimmel. He and Mary Smith were married in 1971 in Springfield, Ill.
Kimmel moved to Wappapello two months ago from Sikeston. He was a retired electrician. He was a member of IBEW, Eagles, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife of Stevens Point, Wis.; a daughter, Lynda Lothe of Plover, Wis.; a stepdaughter, Lisa Kimmel of Rosholt, Wis.; a sister, Mae Mays of Sikeston, and four grandchildren.
