SIKESTON, Mo. -- Bertha A. Savage, 100, formerly of Morehouse, Mo., died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Sikeston Convalescent Center.
She was born Oct. 19, 1903, in Gabriel, Ark., daughter of Amos and Artie Parrish Cossey. She and Clarence Dewey Savage were married Dec. 17, 1923, in Morrilton, Ark. He died Dec. 23, 1970.
Savage was a member of First Baptist Church at Morehouse and formerly sang in the choir.
Survivors include three sons, William "Hank" Savage of Jackson, Ga., Clarence Savage of Millington, Tenn., Don Savage of Hattiesburg, Miss.; a daughter, Euleta Shaffar of Sikeston; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Dolan Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
