JONESBORO, Ill. -- Bertha Ida Pettit, 87, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1992, at Jackson County Nursing Home in Murphysboro. She was born May 6, 1905, at Tamms, daughter of Andrew and Mary Webster Van Zandt. Survivors include a son, Bill Scissom of Olive Branch; two daughters, Mary Turner of Moro, Lucille Matthew of St. Louis, Mo.; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren...

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Bertha Ida Pettit, 87, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1992, at Jackson County Nursing Home in Murphysboro.

She was born May 6, 1905, at Tamms, daughter of Andrew and Mary Webster Van Zandt.

Survivors include a son, Bill Scissom of Olive Branch; two daughters, Mary Turner of Moro, Lucille Matthew of St. Louis, Mo.; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Provo Cemetery near Tamms, with the Rev. Billy Don Heady officiating.

Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms after 10 a.m. Friday.
