CAIRO, Ill. -- Bertha L. Grigsby, 91, of Barlow, Ky., formerly of Cairo, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
She was born Feb. 17, 1917, in Mound City, Ill., daughter of John and Hattie Frank Marrs. She married Aaron W. Grigsby, who preceded her in death.
Grigsby was a member of First Baptist Church in Barlow.
Survivors include three daughters, Louise Presson of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Marilyn Purvis of Barlow, Sandra Dunham of Norborne, Mo.; a son, Charles Grigsby of Tamms, Ill.; two sisters, Edna Hipps of Cairo, Christina Duncan of Kevil, Ky.; two brothers, Ernest Marrs of Union Station, W.Va., Carl Marrs of Aurora, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to service time Monday at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Gholson officiating. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery at Mounds, Ill.
