Bertha Mae Garrett, 82, of the Lutheran Home died Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center. She was formerly of Benton, Mo.
She was born July 4, 1926, in Boonville, Miss., daughter of Will and Bertha Mae Garrett Yarber. She and Thomas Garrett were married July 5, 1956, in Corinth, Miss. He died June 1, 2001.
Garrett was a member of Sandywood Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Tommy Caviness of Benton, Jimmy Caviness of Boonville; three daughters, Rebecca Caviness of Scott City, Billie Carpenter of Boonville, Linda Brown of Belmont, Miss.; 12 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, a great-grandson, seven brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from noon to service time today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, Mo.
The service will be at 3 p.m. today at the chapel, with the Rev. Randy Morse officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
